Buying AE
AE is the native coin of the æternity blockchain. You need it to pay transaction fees, buy community tokens on the bonding curve, swap on the DEX, and fund invite links.
The Get AE page at https://superhero.com/get-ae collects every route: ways to earn AE inside
Superhero, and exchanges and swap aggregators where you can buy it. The older /buy-ae path
redirects there.

Refer & Earn needs some AE to start with: each invite link is funded with the gift amount plus a 0.001 AE fee cover for the invitee's redemption. It grows a balance rather than bootstrapping one.

The instant-swap services and aggregators that used to be listed no longer complete an AE purchase, so they have been removed rather than left as dead ends.

Identity verification, payment methods, purchase limits and country availability are set by the provider. Gate.io requires an account and identity verification. Superhero collects no payment information.
Before you buy
- Set up a wallet first so you have an
ak_address to receive at. See Fund your wallet. - Confirm the token, the network, the deposit address, the withdrawal fee and the minimum withdrawal. AE also exists as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum; only native AE on æternity works in Superhero, and sending the wrong one to the wrong network loses it.
- Start with a small test transaction before moving larger amounts.
- Keep custody in your own wallet, and never share private keys or seed phrases with anyone, including support staff.
- Check availability. Pairs, routes and supported regions change; confirm details with the provider before sending funds.
