Bridging from Ethereum
The in-app Ethereum bridge is disabled: /defi/bridge and /defi/buy-ae-with-eth both redirect
to /defi/swap.
aeETH on the DEX
aeETH is the AEX-9 representation of bridged ETH on æternity. It remains a tradeable DEX asset:
if you hold aeETH, swap it at /defi/swap like any other token, typically through
the aeETH/WAE pair.

aeETH is a claim on ETH held by the bridge on Ethereum, not ETH itself. WAE, by contrast, is backed by AE held in one contract on one chain.
Bridging outside Superhero
æternity operates its own Ethereum bridge, documented on the æternity docs hub (opens in a new tab). To get AE from ETH without bridging at all, use one of the swap aggregators listed under Buying AE.
